Good Morning Oatmeal!

This delicous breakfast oatmeal will keep you rockin till lunch.

Good Morning Oatmeal!

Recipe:


1 cup organic rolled oats

1 cup organic raisins

1 organic apple

2 Tablespoons organic almond butter

2 Tablespoons organic maple syrup

1 Teaspoon vanilla extract

4 Tablespoons organic cold pressed coconut oil


Directions:

Cover the oats with filtered water and let soak in a covered bowl overnight

In the morning strain the water from the soaked oats and give them a second quick rinse and strain

Slice the apple into bite sized pieces

Add all ingredients to soaked oats and gently mix together


Why soaked oats?

As the oats soak overnight their digestibility improves greatly. This has to do with what happens overnight as they soak. Their starches break down which improves digestibility and their natural phytic acid (which all plants contain) is greatly reduced and makes them more easily absorbed by your body. The soaking acts like a long cooking, which you won't get from just heating it on the stove or in a microwave. Most people find that overnight oats are much easier to digest than cooked oats for this reason.
